About this event

A discussion devoted to contemporary issues in graphic design. Through the intersecting perspectives of practitioners, authors and institutional representatives, it will examine the discipline’s visibility today: how graphic design is developed, disseminated, displayed, preserved and passed on.

Structured around the notions of exploration, experimentation, exhibition and archiving, the discussion will highlight the different stages that shape the life of a graphic design project, from research and creation through to dissemination, preservation and its inscription in collective memory.

At a time when professional practices are changing rapidly under the influence of digital transformations and the emergence of artificial intelligence, this discussion will open up a reflection on the conditions of graphic design’s existence today.

How are designers experimenting with new forms and tools? What spaces make their work visible? How can we preserve and pass on a discipline whose productions are often ephemeral or immaterial?

Drawing on their respective experiences and areas of expertise, the speakers will share their analyses of the profession’s many dimensions: creation, publishing, cultural mediation, teaching, research, exhibition, collecting and heritage. The meeting will also be an opportunity to present the latest issue of the journal Graphisme en France 2026, Livre(S).

Open to students, professionals, researchers, cultural practitioners and anyone interested in visual creation, this round table aims to be a space for dialogue between practice, teaching and critical reflection. A bookshop area will provide an opportunity to continue the discussions around specialist books and publications.
