Exposition - "Créatures : une étude de la monstruosité en mouvement, entre photographie et performance"

This exhibition will present work created by students from the BTS Photography program at Lycée Blaise Pascal in Marseille, in dialogue with performance workshops held with young participants from alternative support and training organizations. Conceived as the living trace of a collective creative laboratory, the exhibition will bring together photographs, analog experiments, photograms, textile prints and visual research developed throughout the project. The photography and performance workshops will draw on ideas developed in (LA)HORDE’s new creation "Après moi, le déluge", considered here as a common starting point for research and experimentation. Through themes of transformation, hybrid figures, and tensions between domination, repair and reinvention, this work will nourish the project’s imaginaries without determining its forms. Each proposal developed within the laboratory will thus create its own visual and sensory language, in free dialogue with the critical and poetic universe of the creation. In contact with the dance, cabaret and circus workshops led by Nin Khelifa, the photography students will develop an image-making practice attentive to transformations of the body, states of presence and forms of appearance. Here, photography will not merely document a performance: it will itself become a space of metamorphosis, a sensitive material and a field for experimentation. The works on display will bear witness to a research process focused on monstrosity understood as a force that shifts norms, identities and representations. Fragmented bodies, gestures held in tension, hybrid figures, traces of light and printed materials will compose a visual landscape where fiction, intimacy and performance intersect. Conceived as an extension of the stage work presented at the Ballet national de Marseille, the exhibition will invite the public behind the scenes of the laboratory, to discover how the images were made and to experience the different forms taken by this collective creation.
