Grand 8

This show is part of the World Music Center of the Cité de la Musique de Marseille. For this ensemble’s new creation, bringing together 15 musicians and artists—and which Grand 8 has chosen to call “Lumières!”—sounds, voices and bodies allow themselves to be pierced and invaded by the lights and shadows emerging from the secret of music. An in-situ musical and sound creation device that, using the creative resources it has developed over the years, explores what music can share of our intimacies, even our sensations, and what it can render of our vertigoes, of the resonances captured through it by the eye and the ear. And the protagonists of this ritual finally allow themselves “to draw from it a kind of freedom that would speak of sensitivity, exchange and the fragility of the present moment.” A moment of joy and freedom born of inventive, unreal engineering.
