About this event

SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER Auditorium, Cité de la Musique 4, rue Bernard du Bois, 13001 Marseille 19:00 → 23:30 TICKETS Photo credit: © All rights reserved - Source unknown kaito_winse kaitowinse.net Listen to Kaito Winse Solo Burkina Faso Kaito Winse draws his music from his home village in Burkina Faso, but it had to travel. After moving to Brussels, he founded Avalanche Kaito, a griot-punk-noise collision that has electrified stages across Europe. As a solo performer, he turns voice, percussion, Fulani flute, mouth bow, dance, proverbs and ancient words into instruments for a more inward journey. Kaito does not simply sing in front of the audience: he takes them along, speaks to them, gets them to respond and invites a local choir to join him on his Sentiers lumineux. His program? Nothing less than “digging up the bones of our ancestors and turning them into a ladder.” A curious way of looking back in order to climb higher. [ voice, percussion, Fulani flute, mouth bow ] Co-presented with Cité de la Musique de Marseille Graphic design credit: © All rights reserved - Joao Orecchia j.r.o.z joaoorecchia.com Listen to The Sea Around Us Antitopèia France, Kazakhstan, Switzerland João Orecchia, Mario Marchisella, Saadet Türköz, Gilles Furtwängler Moving between improvisation and composition, The Sea Around Us is a radical, multicontinental project that builds the soundscapes of imaginary places. Poetic dissonances, tactile textures and cinematic visions make up the music of a place that does not exist, yet which we somehow visit. Initially a duo, the group became a quartet with Antipopèia: four musicians transcending geographical, musical and conceptual borders to conjure an impossible map where ancestral memories mingle with the imagination of a fiercely explosive futuristic cinema. A soundtrack for a country that cannot be found, to explore without a compass. [ bass clarinet, electronics - Jo ã o Orecchia ; drums, electronics - Mario Marchisella ; voice - Saadet Türköz & Gilles Furtwängler ]
