Lucien Balconi (France, PACA region - Original work created as part of the Be On support program - Cécilien Jolivard)

Lucien shoulders his guitar, unfolds a sequence of chords, then loops it over the steady foundation of cumbia. Airy melodies float above the video-game fragments and cartoon interludes he injects along the way. He is the author of albums whose titles link together, coming to life like the wooden pieces of a moving marionette. [ guitar, voice, electronics ]

Peter Kernel (Switzerland, Canada - Aris Bassetti, Barbara Lehnoff)

Since 2005, Aris Bassetti and Barbara Lehnhoff have brought Peter Kernel to life. The duo began when Barbara asked Aris to compose the music for her project Like A Giant In A Towel, presented at the Locarno Festival in 2006. This meeting gave rise to a personal artistic world, where intimacy sits alongside tension, tenderness alongside rage, and the intimate alongside the explosive. Their raw noise rock, driven by bass, guitar, drums and vocals, creates nervous, melancholic and unpredictable music, which the band transforms on stage into a physical and emotional experience. Fiercely independent, Aris and Barbara record in their own studio and release music on their label, On The Camper Records. With six albums, more than 500 concerts in Europe and Canada, and appearances at Paléo, Montreux Jazz Festival and London’s HMV Forum, Peter Kernel has built a world all its own. Following Drum To Death (2023), recorded with eleven different drummers, the band is preparing a new album expected in early 2027. [ bass, guitar, drums, voice ]
