La science et la spiritualité peuvent-elles se rencontrer sans se défigurer ?
Has modern science definitively ruled out spirituality? Quantum physics and cosmology are reopening questions about reality, meaning and transcendence.
Between science and spirituality, where does truth lie? By Reza Moghaddassi.
Truth, matter and transcendence: a dialogue on the edge of the abyss
Modern science was built by freeing itself from all revelation and metaphysics. Yet the upheavals of the 20th century—quantum physics and cosmology—seem to reopen questions we thought had been settled: questions of meaning, ultimate reality and even God.
Fallacious appropriation or unavoidable philosophical consequences? This debate is often distorted by an insufficient understanding of what science truly is and what spirituality truly is. This is what the lecture aims to explore.
Reza Moghaddassi is an agrégé professor of philosophy and author of the books La soif de l’essentiel and Les murs qui séparent les hommes ne montent pas jusqu’au Ciel, published by Marabout.
His latest work, released in March 2023, is an interview book entitled “Faire de nos boiteries une danse.” In April 2026, he will publish his new book, entitled “Boussole spirituelle pour les âmes en quête de sens,” with Trédaniel.
