For more than a century and across three successive generations, the Detaille family immortalized prominent figures from political and artistic life in their Marseille studio. Throughout their careers, these photographers also explored the charms of their region and captured its beauty. Unquestionable pioneers, Fernand Detaille laid the foundations of humanist photography; Albert brought a touch of poetry; while Gérard enriched it with modernity. This exhibition offers the opportunity to follow the evolution of this visual art step by step, from its modest beginnings in black and white to the technological revolution that has turned every smartphone owner into an amateur photographer.
