Accélérateur M
Based at the Cité de l’Innovation et des Savoirs Aix Marseille, Accélérateur M has a dual role: it is both a defining feature of an innovative Euro-Mediterranean metropolis and a public service that supports “Made in Monde” startups in their local and international development.
In January 2019, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis officially launched Accélérateur M in partnership with the cities of Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, the SUD Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Region, Aix Marseille Université, CCI Aix Marseille Provence, the competitiveness clusters Capénergies, Mer Méditerranée, and Optitec, and Aix Marseille French Tech Région SUD.
The organization: an association dedicated to innovative businesses, drawing on the vitality, talent, and resources of the metropolitan ecosystem.
The site: a space of more than 300 m 2 where startups can benefit throughout their development from a full range of services, closely connected with the university community and local economic stakeholders, as well as state-of-the-art software and equipment!
Accélérateur M provides startups with personalized support, including coaching, expertise, trials, networking, collaborative R&D… a tailor-made service to “save time,” whether during research and development or when entering new markets. Work processes are implemented in close collaboration with a network of partner companies, with the stated aim of fostering cross-fertilization.
A place for exchanges and partnerships focused on collaboration with counterparts in Africa and the Mediterranean, Accélérateur M also offers future international-facing success stories reception and guidance services within the metropolitan ecosystem.
A response to the needs of growing organizations, whether local or from elsewhere, and, for Aix-Marseille-Provence, an additional showcase for the strengths and assets of France’s largest metropolis in the competition to attract investment. Accélérateur M draws on strategic sectors—blue economy, cultural and creative industries, and green economy—as well as the region’s geostrategic position. It thereby contributes to the reach of a metropolis that has become an essential “hub” for economic development between Europe and Africa.
