Based at the Cité de l’Innovation et des Savoirs Aix Marseille, Accélérateur M has a dual identity: a defining feature of a resolutely innovative Euro-Mediterranean metropolitan area, and a public service that supports “Made in Monde” startups to facilitate their local or international development.
Accélérateur M was officially launched in January 2019 by the Aix-Marseille-Provence metropolitan authority, in partnership with the cities of Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, the Région SUD Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, Aix Marseille Université, the CCI Aix Marseille Provence, the competitiveness clusters Capénergies, Mer Méditerranée and Optitec, and Aix Marseille French Tech Région SUD.
The organization: an association dedicated to innovative businesses, drawing on the energy, talents and resources of the metropolitan ecosystem.
The site: a space of more than 300 m 2 where startups can benefit throughout their journey from a full range of services closely connected with the academic world and the area’s economic stakeholders, as well as state-of-the-art software and equipment!
Accélérateur M provides startups with personalized support, including coaching, expertise, trials, networking and collaborative R&D… a tailored service to “save time,” whether during research and development or when entering new markets. Work processes will be implemented in close collaboration with a network of partner businesses, with the stated aim of fostering cross-fertilization.
A place for discussion and partnerships focused on collaboration with its African and Mediterranean counterparts, Accélérateur M also offers future international-facing rising stars welcome and guidance services within the metropolitan ecosystem.
A response to the needs of developing organizations, whether local or from elsewhere, and, for Aix-Marseille-Provence, an additional showcase for the strengths and assets of France’s largest metropolitan area in the competition to attract business. Accélérateur M draws on strategic sectors — the blue economy, cultural and creative industries, and the green economy — as well as the area’s geostrategic position. It thus contributes to the influence of a metropolitan area that has become an essential “hub” for economic development between Europe and Africa.
