Marcus Gad: a conscious reggae artist from the Pacific Originally from New Caledonia, Marcus Gad shaped his musical identity through travels meeting Indigenous cultures. Returning to Nouméa at the end of 2014, he launched his career with the EPs “Soul Talk” (2015) and “Purify” (2016), before releasing his first album “Chanting” in 2017, recorded with his band Tribe at Studio Davout in Paris. His world combines roots reggae, soul, hip-hop and world music, with tribal traditions, nature and spirituality as its common thread. The album “Ready for Battle” (2023), his fourth studio album, confirms his roots in meditative and committed reggae. His recent collaboration with producer Tamal on the project “Brave New World” demonstrates his constantly evolving creativity. Several transport options can take you to Le Dodo, located in Marseille’s 6th arrondissement. On RTM public transport, buses 49 and 56 serve the “Belle de Mai La Friche” stop, and a night bus line (582) is also available. By metro, lines M1 and M2 to Gare Saint-Charles allow you to reach the venue in a 15-minute walk; line M1 to Cinq Avenues-Longchamp is also possible. By tram, line T2 (Longchamp stop) involves approximately a 10-minute walk. For spectators arriving by car, access is exclusively via the Simon entrance, 12 rue François Simon (the Jobin entrance is reserved for pedestrians). A paid “Champ de Mai” car park (86 spaces) is available nearby, with 1 hour 30 minutes free, followed by €0.40 per 15-minute period (visitor rate). The venue is fully accessible to people with reduced mobility (goods lift, adapted routes, induction loop during events). Our advice: use public transport to get to the concert. Tram T2 (Longchamp stop) offers a convenient connection, with only a 10-minute walk to Le Dodo.
