About this event
We are Elma, Lola, Clara and Tess, artist-designers based between Paris and Marseille. We work with illustration, artisanal printing techniques, graphic design, printed objects and the creation of microstructures. We also lead collective workshops conceived as spaces for sharing and experimentation.
Through these workshops, our intention is to make artistic practices accessible to as many people as possible. We like to offer simple, playful and open moments where everyone can experiment without any prerequisites. Making, handling, trying, repurposing materials, inventing new tools, exploring different media and formats: this is how we approach creation.
Our project is part of this framework: a day of public art workshops organized at the Paysan Urbain farm, located in Marseille’s 13th arrondissement. This lively site brings together an educational garden, a plant nursery, reception spaces and a reintegration program, offering an ideal environment for imagining shared forms of creation.
We are offering two sessions of collective visual arts workshops, open to everyone.
Under the pine trees, near the educational garden, participants will be invited to observe their surroundings and create their own patterns. Using simple tools or natural materials collected on site, everyone will be able to develop their own “graphic signature.” We will then propose a printing activity on large wall hangings and fabric samples in various shapes. Gradually, these individual experiments will become a collective creation: large flags composed of all the shapes observed, drawn and printed during the workshop.
Throughout the day, members of the farm team will be present to support activities around the garden. They will help participants better understand the site, ask questions and discover the different activities there.
These workshops aim to offer a special time for artistic experimentation, directly connected to a natural, living environment, and to foster a sensory encounter between the farm, its inhabitants and Marseille’s public.
