Polyphonies de Sardaigne à la bougie
Candlelit Sardinian polyphony: Tenores di Orosei, one of the best-known Sardinian polyphony ensembles, in concert at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde on December 4 at 20:00.
About this event
For this second candlelit evening at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde, the Sacrée Musique festival invites you to an entirely new discovery: Tenores di Orosei, one of the best-known Sardinian polyphony ensembles.
While some of their tonalities are close to Corsican polyphony, the choir also has its own style: Tenores perform a repertoire of both traditional and sacred songs using a vocal technique unique in the world—which is found only in the chanting of Tibetan monks!—and dating back to ancient times: “a tenore” singing, produced by setting the vocal cords vibrating.
As part of the Festival Sacrée Musique

It’s Christmas early throughout the region with the Sacrée Musique festival, which brings together sacred heritage, music, and a candlelit atmosphere from December 3 to 13.
