Textile en atelier: The Meetings
This program offers one-on-one meetings with artists and designers working with textiles who are based in the Marseille area, some of whom have worked in Adrien Vescovi’s studio. Organized as appointments, these opportunities for special exchanges give the public a chance to discover practices that bring craftsmanship and artistic creation together.

Harumi Sugiura places the art of folding at the heart of her textile work. Originally from Tokyo and now based in Marseille, she explores Western pleating techniques and Japanese folds inspired by origami. At the crossroads of cultures and crafts, Harumi Sugiura creates hand-pleated textiles, working mainly with silk, as well as organza, wool, hemp, and ramie. Her artistic exploration of pleating combines with research into plant-based dyes, drawing on influences from East and West, and leads her either to pursue color or to embrace it.

As part of "Textile en atelier," Harumi Siugara will introduce the public to the pleated fabrics she produces as an artisan, making them available as materials for artists and designers, as well as for the worlds of interior design and fashion. She will show how, through fabric and the art of folding, she explores volume, solid and void, and the elastic force that gives materials freedom and creates movement.

As part of the exhibition Dormir comme le soleil by Adrien Vescovi at the Centre de la Vieille Charité and on the occasion of the second edition of the Tangible festival.
