About this event
Textile en atelier: Meet the artists This program offers one-to-one meetings with artists and designers working with textiles in the Marseille area, some of whom have worked in Adrien Vescovi’s studio. Organized as appointments, these special opportunities for discussion allow the public to discover practices that closely combine craftsmanship and artistic creation.
Visitors to Adrien Vescovi’s exhibition will also have the opportunity to meet Margot Graziani. Margot Graziani uses weaving as a way of sculpting color. A textile artist, she explores the transitions between drawing and weave, gesture and material, giving colors a dual impetus: first by carefully developing them in the studio, then by sculpting them through hand weaving. Her works become three-dimensional forms, playing with the weave as a language. Drawing on centuries-old craftsmanship, her creations open the way to applications in design and contemporary artistic practice.
As part of "Textile en atelier", Margot Graziani invites the public to discover her creative world. She uses fibers that reflect her roots in the Drôme (straw from neighboring farms, reeds from rivers, etc.), develops her own colors (mainly from plants and natural materials, but also from inks and primary-color paints that she reworks in the studio), and sees weaving as a formal exploration—as a designer’s material, a painting and a sculpture.
As part of Adrien Vescovi’s exhibition Dormir comme le soleil at the Centre de la Vieille Charité and on the occasion of the second edition of the Tangible festival.
