Requiem de Franz von Suppé

The 80 choristers of the Philharmonic Choir and its quartet of soloists, accompanied by the Marseille Chamber Orchestra, will be conducted by Jean-Emmanuel Jacquet, professor of choral singing at the Pierre Barbizet Conservatory of Marseille.

The programme features the Requiem, a masterful work composed by Franz von Suppé in 1855.

It is a piece that alternates between episodes of intense dramatic force and moments of contemplation marked by great melodic subtlety.

Long forgotten during the 20th century, the score has now been rediscovered and praised for its melodic richness.
