About this event
Between craftsmanship, art and design, the installation brings together works by Louis Lefebvre, Zélia Moussy and Théophile Peris, and can be discovered through a sensory approach: squeezing a handful of wool to feel its fibres, working with a material that grows back every year, jumping with both feet onto a huge cushion… So many actions belonging to the realm of the spring, that tension between flexibility and strength, relaxation and rebound, which animates us and gives us the strength to be resilient.
“Playing with ideas as with a bouncing ball against a wall. Going from one encounter to another and from one place to another to learn and pass on. Squeezing a handful of wool between your hands to feel the fibres. Repairing a 19th-century industrial wool carder. Working with a material that grows back every year. Jumping with both feet onto a huge cushion to cause a commotion. Listening to bursts of laughter getting lost in blankets and felts. Being tired and taking a nap to set off again with renewed energy. All these actions belong to the realm of the spring. To varying degrees, the spring is part of our lives; it is what animates us and gives us the strength to be resilient. It is in this relationship of tension and relaxation, flexibility and strength, that we wish to build this exhibition.”
