Tiwiza takes us on a journey from Lounès Matoub to ONB, via Gnawa Diffusion. Led by a charismatic singer and backed by three musicians from different yet complementary backgrounds (funk, jazz, rock), Tiwiza is a generous, wholehearted band. Able to command the stage and fill it with the complicity of their audience, this Toulouse-based band has boundless energy and a contagious sense of sharing. 🎤 Rabie Houti

The group was formed at the initiative of Rabie Houti, a renowned violinist on the Oran music scene whose Arab-Andalusian repertoire has always been an invitation to travel.

He had barely unpacked on the banks of the Lez when his violin soon drew musicians from all walks of life, eager to share their music. Their meeting gave rise to Rabie Houti Band, which now offers a rich and varied fusion of music, blending the oriental softness of reimagined Arab-Andalusian melodies, the driving energy of blues scales, the irresistible groove of an Afrobeat rhythm and the lightness of swing. Nothing is lost. Everything is transformed. Drawing on each member’s diverse musical influences, Rabie Houti Band creates a unique, multicolored soundscape that invites joy, celebration and travel.
