Toujours cela bruit en moi

Telling one’s story through sound and solo performance. With Toujours cela bruit en moi, Lo Guénin, directed by Céleste Germe (Das Plateau), creates a sound fable on the borderline between a concert and a musical play, exploring the passage out of childhood and into adolescence.

An eleven-year-old, then a fifteen-year-old, at middle school, not without difficulty, in conflict with himself and with others. Poetry and music—only sounds make his body perceptible. Deeply rooted in reality, this performance unfolds a form of writing made up of echoes and shifts, in which poetry is born from attention to details and perceptions. An invitation to move through memory as emotions come to the surface.

Lo Guénin examines an identity in the making, the gaze of others, shame, and the norms that shape and constrain us, but also the power of imagination and childhood. We are invited to celebrate atypical paths, outsiders, and fragile strengths. The noise of others gives way to a song of one’s own.
