Trio Los Tchicaos

A musical journey between Cape Verde and Brazil. Los Tchicaos’ repertoire, made up of covers and original compositions, is a delicious, swaying blend of island rhythms: Morna—the emblematic Cape Verdean genre, full of saudade, popularized by Cesária Évora and included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list—as well as lively Coladera, energetic Funaná and ancestral Batuque, not forgetting Brazilian influences. Sung in Portuguese and Cape Verdean Creole, this hybrid music, born of the meeting of Europe and Africa, is an invitation to travel. The trio, associated with the Marseille-based organization Cap-Vert l'Avenir, proudly champions the culture of the islands, with two voices, two guitars and percussion.
