🍂🧶 ART WORKSHOP – WOOL FELTING | MARSEILLE Would you like to learn more about an ancient Lithuanian craft and try wool felting for yourself? Join us for a creative workshop with traditional craftspeople Ale Deksniene and Kęstutis Deksnys, guardians of Lithuania’s cultural heritage who continue a family craft tradition spanning several generations. 📅 November 8 (Sunday), 13.00 📍 Maison Suisse, 7 rue d’Arcole, 13006 Marseille ⏳ Duration – 2.5 hours 🧶 All the materials needed for the workshop will be provided.
The presentation and workshop will be led by traditional craftspeople Alė Deksnienė and Kęstutis Deksnys.
Meet our workshop leaders!
AlÄ— DeksnienÄ— is a folk artist, creator, and traditional craftsperson who preserves the traditions of wool and felt felting, hat-making, and toy-making. Her works are certified as Lithuanian national heritage products. AlÄ— has won numerous national competitions and awards. She actively presents Lithuanian traditional crafts in Lithuania and abroad and passes on her knowledge to the younger generation.
Kęstutis Deksnys is a traditional felt boot maker and creator of national heritage products. He inherited the craft from his grandfather and father. To this day, he uses authentic tools preserved by his family and makes traditional felt boots using age-old techniques, continuing the family tradition and helping preserve Lithuania’s craft heritage.
Together, Alė and Kęstutis founded the craft studio „Suveltas stilius“ in Rokiškis, where they showcase wool-felting traditions and hold workshops.
