Wallace Negao & Dolce Samba

Based in Marseille for about ten years, Wallace Negão is a tireless ambassador of Brazilian rhythms, a singer and cavaquinho player (the small four-string guitar that is an emblem of samba). With Dolce Samba, his trio featuring 100% Brazilian percussion—pandeiro, tantan, cuíca and tamborim—he turns the evening into a warm, dance-filled celebration of Rio, blending samba and bossa nova. A leading figure on Marseille’s Brazilian music scene, Wallace also leads the Trio Combo Brazil project (debut album in 2016, appearance at the Festival de Marseille), where the rhythms of Rio meet Creole and electronic sounds.
