Les Riaux

A Provençal name shaped by a stream

Les Riaux is a neighborhood in Marseille’s 16th arrondissement. Its name comes from Provençal and means “stream,” referring to the Riau, a small watercourse that crosses part of the city’s northern neighborhoods. It is one of the four administrative neighborhoods in the 16th arrondissement, alongside L’Estaque, Saint-André and Saint-Henri.
