A Marseille neighbourhood with a distinctive name

Menpenti is one of the neighbourhoods in Marseille’s 10th arrondissement. Its name comes from a motto once inscribed on the pediment of a bastide: “Marchi toujou, e jamai m’en penti”, while the area belongs to an arrondissement crossed by the A50 motorway, the L2 ring road and the Marseille Canal.
