Balladur - Heimat x 27/09 x L'Embobineuse

La Satiété Générale is starting its new season on Sunday, September 27, at L'Embobineuse with Balladur and Heimat! La Satiété Générale presents Romain de Ferron on vocals, guitar and keyboards, Amédée de Murcia on synthesizers and effects. Together, they form the duo Balladur, a blend of dub, new wave and rockabilly. The nine tracks on “Pourquoi certains arbres sont si grands” are haunted by nostalgia for hopes and happy days, as well as a uniquely “àquoiboniste” taste of ashes. Is it that 1970s Italian passion? The astonishing directness of the lyrics? This obsessive taste for light and shadow? The omnipresence of demonic synthesizers in the background? listen to the album -- Behind this alias are two personalities well known in France’s underground scene: Olivier Demeaux, Cheveu keyboardist and also a member of the drone-ambient project Accident du Travail, and Armelle Oberle, whose unique voice has already been heard with The Dreams and Badaboum. Since its first album (2016), Heimat has surprised many listeners with the originality of its compositions, inspired as much by new wave and trap music as by ethnographic recordings from Southeast Asia. Strange and lyrical at once, the record established itself as a genre classic. Since then, Heimat has been remixed by Sonic Boom, Tolouse low trax and Zohar, and invited to join the European tours of Fever Ray and Protomartyr. Heimat will release its third album, “Iti eta no,” on March 14, 2025 (Teenage Menopause records). Its cover was created by cartoonist Anouk Ricard, winner of the 2025 Angoulême Grand Prix.
