Lac artificiel

There is something in the pitch-black night written by Marine Chartrain that attracts ghosts and specters… Laura and Salomé are inseparable. One Saturday evening, in the middle of summer, the two teenagers walk along the departmental road at the edge of the forest, looking for somewhere to party. With only the fluorescent road markings as their guide, they search for their way and eventually get lost. Adrift in a world that sways, ever farther into the night and the darkness of their memories, they witness their own downfall and the erosion of their relationship. In a dizzying game of doubling and mirrors, Céleste Germe directs Maëlys Ricordeau, who plays both young women in an impressive performance. Hypnotic, the sound and visual design plunges us into the winding paths of Laura and Salomé’s memories as they prowl through the heart of the forest, at the heart of the night, toward their traumas. Where friendship and love are first and foremost played out with oneself. A radical and moving performance in which shadows and mirages play with a luminous and deeply moving actress.
