Un animal, des animals

A menagerie of finely cut paper puppets invites us to look at living beings differently. In this black-and-white world, each wooden box questions the place of the human species in the animal kingdom. As part of the Zone Sans Humains collective, Simone and Simon imagine places where human beings can no longer go: autonomous forests, not to protect animals, but to leave them in peace. No to concrete, yes to ants! Clean air for all creatures! they chant before turning their gaze to the species with which we coexist. From wooden boxes, like a giant picture book, a great menagerie emerges. Words are rare, and performers Chloé Ratte and Simon Moers fade behind the paper puppets. Black-and-white silhouettes, Birds, Hedgehog, Lobster and Pigs come alive with vigor and delicacy to the electronic music of Luce Amoros. The visual language carries the audience into a new order of things, in which humans would take their place among animals. This show invites us to take a step aside and talk about ethics by opening a window onto other possible relationships with living beings.
