Since 2021, La Caverne has sought to introduce audiences to, promote and foster a better understanding of every style of jazz by organizing concerts, master classes, lectures and discussions, while also offering a warm and unusual setting.
Caroline Mayer (vocals) and Lionel Dandine (piano and arrangements) lead this project with as much passion as they carry Italy in their hearts. Caroline lived there for five years, while Lionel’s roots are Sicilian. Accompanied by Nicolas Koedinger on double bass and Cédrick Bec on drums, Un Gelato per Te pays tribute to Italy with sincerity and authenticity.
Un Gelato per Te is a timeless concert, where memories dance between shadow and light, and every note whispers the soul of Italy. In Naples, where the alleyways sing; in Sorrento, where the sea blazes at sunset, caressed by the gentle breeze of summer evenings; in Rome, which steals your heart like a lover.
The emotion of the great Italian classics of the last century, reinvented through sensitive and elegant arrangements. Through its jazz world, the group weaves a thread between timeless melodies and an interpretive freedom that gives them new life. The unforgettable voices of Ornella Vanoni, Mina and Gino Paoli engage in dialogue with the treasures of Neapolitan song, in a musical journey where memory and improvisation meet.
Un Gelato per Te is a concert that tells stories—those we have lived and those we have dreamed… Between each song, Caroline also shares personal anecdotes from her life in Italy, bringing an intimate and warm dimension to the concert.
