This season, the Amazons push back the boundaries of dance. Hippolyta, Penthesilea, Antiope, and the others are summoned onto the stage by the playful Italian choreographer Silvia Gribaudi. No mythological narrative here, but an exploration of the art and practice of asserting one’s existence through presence.

Silvia Gribaudi does not bother reminding us who is who; instead, together with five dancers, she prefers to question what it means to be an Amazon today. On stage, bodies do not simply occupy space—they expand it. No weapons, but a celebration of femininities in all their teeming complexity. The arrows are gone; the ancient battle becomes a practice here, a training in taking one’s place and persisting without crushing others. In this momentum, the performers transform resistance into rhythm and effort into celebration.

Power is no longer a matter of conquest, but of asserted presence. Radical, irreverent, and joyful, these contemporary women transform the combative drive of the mythical Amazons into a horde cultivating the art of subversive joy.
