Come and discover, exchange ideas, find information, read, listen, share, meet people, work, play, learn and enjoy yourself for free, all year round! ► FOR EVERYONE ► POETRY WORKSHOPS WITH MO ABBAS A series of writing and drawing workshops led by Mo Abbas, a Marseille poet whose work has notably been published by Le Port a Jauni (a Marseille publishing house). Come play with words at the Maison Diamantée! Workshop open to everyone. Registration required. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 AT 6 P.M. – Creating haikus Under Mo Abbas’s guidance, we will play with words and bring haikus to life, an extremely brief Japanese poetic form. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 AT 6 P.M. – Emerging prose For this second workshop, the haikus created previously will serve as a starting point for bringing forth vibrant poetic prose, once again guided by Mo Abbas. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 AT 6 P.M. – Illustrating our poems We will illustrate our poems, drawing inspiration from the collections of Marseille’s libraries while being guided by Mo Abbas. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31 AT 6 P.M. – Presenting the texts, creating a zine and a podcast A zine will be published featuring all the participants’ poems. Ideally, a sound recording will be available to listen to on site, retracing the journey and poetic reflections that emerged and were recorded during the previous sessions. ► WORKSHOP AND MEETING WITH IRIS POUY Iris Pouy is a comic-book author and illustrator who lives in Marseille. Workshop open to everyone. Registration required. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20 AT 6 P.M. – In Iris Pouy’s Panier à Bulles A special session of our comic-book reading club, with illustrator Iris Pouy, who will present her work before discussing with us the adaptation of folktales in contemporary comics. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT 6 P.M. – Comic-book illustration workshop for adults A comic-book illustration workshop for adults focusing on reworking folktales, continuing Iris Pouy’s work. READING CLUB – Panier à Bulles TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 22 AT 5:30 P.M. Our monthly special comics/manga reading club! Come share your reading experiences and favorite books, and discover our themed presentations on the world of the 9th art. Registration required. Led by the librarians. GAMES – Introduction to role-playing: Original One Shot TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 AT 6 P.M. An introductory session to the most famous of role-playing games, complete with dungeons and dragons.
