Aura Mare

Looking at a painting by Nadée is like traveling through a space where ancient times stir your imagination, where silhouettes beckon you to follow them. Where are you? You must find out for yourself. The artist suggests, sketches a path, leaves traces, footsteps. In this exhibition entitled Aura Mare, water reveals itself through transparencies, reflections and the movement of the material. Pigments, gold powder, Mediterranean light and Eastern accents compose a world imbued with mystery and spirituality. Little by little, silence takes hold. A meditative sense of serenity settles in. As in a dream, appearances and disappearances shape the movement of the brushstrokes. Forms seem to emerge at the boundary between the visible and invisible, between sky, land and sea. And so we find ourselves suspended, floating, captivated by the work’s spellbinding power.

According to Walter Benjamin, Aura is « the unique appearance of a distance, however near it may be ».

My travels in Italy have enriched my work with light, transparency, radiance and vibrations, which have long been sources of inspiration for my painting.

On the shore, the gaze wanders between water and sky. A dream of the unattainable? On the surface, reflections and sea mirages (ap)pear and disappear. Islands, star-flowers, nothing is real. The soul of the sea drifts into slumber... Time stands still. » Nadée
