About this event

With its gypsy jazz, klezmer and Romani repertoire, Basilic Swing will take you to the roots of the itinerant cultures of Central and Eastern Europe, serving up music full of emotion and wild celebration!

Basilic Swing’s DNA is exploring the roots of gypsy jazz. Gypsy jazz (or French jazz, as Americans call it) was invented by the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt, influenced by American jazz, French musette and Eastern European music. The Manouche and Romani communities that Django came from travelled through many countries, including Hungary, Romania and Russia, absorbing local musical traditions.

They also came into contact with other kinds of itinerant musicians, such as klezmerim (klezmer music), the Ashkenazi Jewish musicians of Eastern Europe. Two guitars, a double bass and a violin will take you on a journey where genres meet.

A fusion of the senses awaits, with delicious cocktails and refined meals! Our chef prepares small homemade dishes using fresh market produce from 8 p.m. to midnight. Reservations are strongly recommended for dinner. No reservation is needed for the concert alone.
