After Mozart was played and conducted from the keyboard by three young pianist-conductors last year, here are three great piano concertos by Beethoven, performed by three masters who have a direct line to the Bonn genius. François-Frédéric Guy has just recorded his second complete cycle of the sonatas and has recorded the complete concertos twice. Jean-Efflam Bavouzet has recorded the concertos with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. And Sélim Mazari currently lives in Vienna, where Beethoven spent most of his life.
