About this event

A songwriter, composer, performer and artistic director, Manu Théron is a leading figure in the revival of Occitan music and song. Founder of Gacha Empega and later Lo Còr de la Plana, he reinvents Occitan polyphony by bringing it into dialogue with popular music from the Mediterranean and beyond. Awarded by the Académie Charles Cros and SACEM, his work has taken him to stages around the world. An artist devoted to sharing knowledge and fostering encounters, he has spent nearly thirty years developing creations, collaborations and workshops centered on group singing. Now a programmer at the Cité de la Musique de Marseille, he continues to pursue work deeply rooted in Òc culture, open to the world and resolutely contemporary.

For his second carte blanche at La Meson, Manu is offering us two evenings devoted to his creative work.

On the first day, he will present the results of his solo work for the very first time, then the dazzling Damien Toumi will join him for a grand finale, probably ending in a farandole.

On the second day, for the first time in Marseille, he has decided to share the stage with one of his longtime collaborators and a great friend of La Meson, our dear Malik Ziad.
