Championnat de France jeunes de Match Racing

12-15 NOVEMBER

Organization: Yachting Club Pointe Rouge

Just a short distance from the calanques, the Yachting Club de la Pointe Rouge is a nautical, sports and leisure club offering activities for everyone 365 days a year.

YCPR is a 1901-law association founded on July 16, 1937. Its first headquarters was a beach cabin, partly destroyed during the war and then restored by its dozen members. At the time, the very modest boats were pulled up onto the beach or moored at the quay protecting the cove.

The marina project, proposed in the form of sketches to the Maritime Roads and Bridges Department, laid the foundations for its development. The first work began in 1964 and was completed in 1972. The club was then built, with its technical buildings and restaurant.

With 1,200 members, YCPR is one of Marseille’s major nautical clubs. It is primarily active in three disciplines: sailing, fishing and diving. Its sports sections and schools are developing year after year with ambition.

Approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and affiliated with the French Federations of Underwater Sports, Sailing and Sea Fishing, YCPR ranks among the top 10 French clubs and is even one of the largest nautical clubs in the Mediterranean.

The association is administered by a Board of Directors composed of fifteen members elected for three years (by secret ballot at the general assembly), chosen from among members who enjoy their civic rights and are up to date with their membership fees and dues. The Board of Directors then elects the Executive Committee, composed of the President, their delegate, two Vice-Presidents, a Secretary General and a Treasurer.

Since 1972, YCPR has also managed more than 700 berths, ten piers and around one hundred dry berths.

It is in a welcoming, family-friendly nautical environment, supervised by a permanent staff of 25 employees, including 10 qualified instructors, that we invite you to take part in our various sports and leisure activities.

WELCOME to Y!
