About this event

Editorial

The BPM collective is back at V2 for a screening of season 2 of the web series La théorie du Y.

Released in 2019, this season focuses on the main character Anna’s exploration of Brussels’s queer community, particularly its lesbian community. She is more confident following her bisexual coming-in in season 1. We also follow her friend Malik’s struggles between his family, his job, and his secret romantic relationship with a man.

This series is one of the few centered on bisexuality and its specific issues. Bisexuality is still largely invisible, reduced to misconceptions and confined to boxes that it nevertheless breaks open. How can you feel legitimate in closed spaces, whether single-gender or intentionally mixed? How can fluid desires coexist with political struggle? What is the psychological cost of being closeted? These are just some of the questions addressed in season 2, which we can discuss after the screening.

La théorie du Y – saison 2

by Caroline Taillet and Martin Landmeters | 2019 | Belgium | 1h28

Back in Brussels, Anna discovers a lesbian bar where she tries to find her place. Malik, meanwhile, is going through a rough patch and seems to be avoiding Anna. As she tries to reconcile the two parts of herself, Malik tries to separate them at all costs.

Collectif BiPan Marseille

We are a collective founded in May 2024 to discuss and politicize our bi and pan experiences, fight biphobia and monosexism by questioning cisheteropatriarchal norms, make ourselves visible, and build community in Marseille. The group is open to all bi, pan, fluid, and questioning people.

We organize drinks on the first Wednesday of every month at the LGBTQIA+ Center, discussion groups, and events such as book presentations, karaoke nights, and open mics…

We are also part of the inter-collectives that organize Pride Month in June and Lesbian Visibility Weeks in April.
