The Motorcycle Museum displays, in a beautifully restored old mill, an exceptional collection tracing the history of the motorcycle from its origins in 1885 to the present day. Numerous sets and displays highlight more than 250 magnificent machines. The collection is presented chronologically across 5 levels, offering visitors a complete view of the evolution of motorcycles over a century, through technical discoveries and design. The history of the “motorcycle”, from its origins in 1885 to the present day, is traced here through an exceptional collection. A century of motorcycling makes it one of the finest museums in Europe. The quality and rarity of its pieces have enabled the Marseille Motorcycle Museum to become part of France's national motorcycle collection. COLLECTIONS 250 unique pieces from the museum's heritage, donations, loans from private collectors or individuals, and exchanges with other museums in France and Europe: the MGC prototype 1935/1938, 650 cc, 4-cylinder inline engine (an avant-garde aircraft-engined motorcycle, unique in the world, probably the finest and most complex French machine of its era); “moto GUZZI” machines in perfect condition, demonstrating the rapid evolution of the Italian brand; military motorcycles that took part in the 2nd World War... and a unique model, the Sunbeam/Porsche Prototype, 1969, equipped with a Porsche 356 model engine, 4 cylinders, 1300CC. ► To ensure that you can enjoy the complete tour of all our exhibition rooms, we invite you to contact the Museum before your visit. ► All visits and activities related to the exhibition are available on the website musees.marseille.fr
