Housed in a beautifully restored old mill, the Musée de la Moto presents an exceptional collection tracing the history of the motorcycle from its origins in 1885 to the present day. Numerous sets and displays showcase more than 250 magnificent machines.

Arranged chronologically across 5 levels, the collection gives visitors a comprehensive view of the motorcycle’s evolution over a century, through technological discoveries and design.

The history of the “motorcycle,” from its origins in 1885 to the present day, is traced here through an exceptional collection spanning a century of motorcycling, making it one of Europe’s finest museums. The quality and rarity of its pieces have earned the Musée de la Moto de Marseille a place in France’s national motorcycle collection.

COLLECTIONS

250 unique pieces from the museum’s holdings, donations, loans from private collectors and individuals, and exchanges with other museums in France and Europe: the MGC prototype 1935/1938, 650 cc, 4-cylinder inline (an avant-garde aircraft-engine motorcycle, unique in the world, undoubtedly the most beautiful and complex French machine of its era); perfectly preserved “Moto Guzzi” machines, showing the Italian brand’s rapid evolution; military motorcycles that took part in World War II... and a unique model, the Prototype Sunbeam/Porsche,1969, equipped with a Porsche model 356 engine, 4 cylinders, 1300CC.
