About this event

Talk and round-table discussion, book signings, exhibition of original engravings.

A rare artist’s book, somewhere between a travel journal and an art book: eighty ink sketches revealing Marseille from a fresh and deeply personal perspective.

Neither a tourist guide nor a postcard album, it is the singular work of an artist who, sketchbook under his arm, tirelessly roams his city to capture its soul.

Didier Deléglise-Drayton has become a serial sketcher of Marseille: each drawing is an immersion, a graphic testimony charged with emotion and truth.

More than a book, it is a sensitive stroll through the neighborhoods, ports, alleyways and landscapes that make the city so rich.

From the wild calanques of Les Goudes – the author’s favorite neighborhood – to the alleyways of Le Panier, from the quays of the Old Port to the chichi fritters stalls of L’Estaque, each sketch reveals an intimate Marseille, one that only a loving resident knows how to see.
