Des films en commun #33 | Medellín en manière noire + Up there
Friday, 18 September 2026 · 6:00 p.m.
Editorial
Every month, Videodrome 2 offers a participatory carte blanche dedicated to short films: a grouping of films that are always short, often different, and never without their director. With 2 to 5 short films, the idea is to offer filmmakers a space to show their work, with a chance to talk in the intimate setting of our screening room.
Medellín en manière noire (Medellín a la manera negra)
by Santiago Londoño | 2025 | Colombia | 33 min | French subtitles
In the 1970s, Oscar Jaramillo portrayed marginalized figures from Medellín’s nightlife, unknowingly creating a vast collection of faces. His drawings reveal the bohemian spirit of a city where musicians, thieves, drunks, prostitutes, brawlers and drug dealers shared bars and bustling street corners. With the declaration of the war on drug trafficking, the city changed radically, and so did its nocturnal characters. Their destinies were transformed, and the harshness of everyday life reshaped their faces, imprinting new ways and new gestures that Oscar immortalized in his work. This place of creation and encounter that Medellín once was became a space where violence and “easy” money fractured the social fabric and morality of its inhabitants. Medellín en manière noire is a portrait of this tragic transformation.
Up there
by Clémentine Sat | 2025 | France | 35 min
Returning from a hike, Salomé realizes she has lost her earring and retraces her steps to look for it. Jules knows she will not find it and heads back down. Up There tells the story of the last summer of a first love, and exists to make those who already love the mountains fall in love with them even more.
