Dormir comme le soleil - Adrien Vescovi
Join us at the Centre de la Vieille Charité from May 16, 2026 to January 10, 2027 for an exhibition by Adrien Vescovi.
About this event
Adrien's work is rooted in a textile practice that explores the resonances of artisanal gestures. For him, sewing, dyeing and humble materials become carriers of a plural memory, also echoing the workshops that have long lined Mediterranean shores. At the heart of his work is fabric—and, more specifically, the old bedsheet: a malleable element, witness to everyday life, and repository of silent archives. Whether marked by time, imbued with natural pigments or shaped by the artist, it accumulates traces—from those of the past to the accidental marks left by its current display. Between intimacy and revelation, it holds both the fragility of human lives and the resilience of the gestures that accompany them.
This installation offers everyone a multifaceted experience: an immediate sense of dialogue with the architecture, the sensitivity of the materials, and the more secret poetry of overlapping layers of time.
In the profound dialogue it maintains with the history of the Charité, it offers visitors a passage, a pause, a moment to experience the subtle vibration of memory in the very fibers of our world.
