Visit the Centre de la Vieille Charité from May 16, 2026 to January 10, 2027 for Adrien Vescovi’s exhibition. The Musées de Marseille are renewing their support for contemporary artistic creation by inviting Adrien VESCOVI to take over the chapel and galleries of the Centre de la Vieille Charité to create a new work. Adrien’s work is based on a textile practice that explores the resonances of craft gestures. In his work, sewing, dyeing and humble materials become carriers of a plural memory, also echoing the workshops that have always lined the shores of the Mediterranean. At the heart of his work is fabric – more specifically, old linen: a malleable element, witness to everyday life, a site of silent archives. Whether marked by time, infused with natural pigments or shaped by the artist, it accumulates imprints – from those of the past to the accidental marks of its current presentation. Between intimacy and revelation, it carries both the fragility of human lives and the robustness of the gestures that accompany them. This installation will offer everyone a multifaceted experience: an immediate perception of a dialogue with the architecture, the sensitivity of the materials, and the more secret poetry of overlapping layers of time. In the deep dialogue it will maintain with the history of the Charité, it will offer visitors a passage, a suspension, time to experience the discreet vibration of memory in the very fibers of our world.
