Exposition Mina H. contre Dracula
An exhibition by Olivier Deprez in collaboration with Florence Pazzottu
About this event
Dracula, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, arrives in the modern Western world at the turn of the 20th century, at the same time as cinema, psychoanalysis and shorthand emerge. In 1982, drawing on this coincidence, German media theorist Friedrich Kittler published “Dracula’s Testament” at the beginning of 1900 Mode d’emploi, a text so brilliant that it seems almost hallucinated. Encountering this text gave rise to “Mina H. contre Dracula,” an artists’ book by Olivier Deprez and Florence Pazzottu, whose project won the 2023 Arcane grant and which lies at the heart of this exhibition—where it is being presented for the first time.
Performance reading on October 11 at 3 p.m.
