Forum Respect pour les Femmes comes to the Hôtel de Région in Marseille for its fifth edition
A key event on the regional calendar, Forum Respect pour les Femmes returns for its fifth edition at the Hôtel de Région in Marseille on Thursday, November 19, 2026. Since its launch, this event has brought together nearly 1,000 participants each year, united by a shared goal: to fight violence against women and promote their fundamental rights. Singer Julie Zenatti will be the patron of this edition, lending her support to this annual event.
The 2026 theme, “At the heart of women’s health,” puts prevention and awareness at the center of the morning. Persistent inequalities continue to affect the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting women: one in two patients feels that their symptoms have been dismissed because of their sex. Major health issues—including breast cancer, endometriosis and depression—will continue to shape the discussions and debates. In Bouches-du-Rhône and, more broadly, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, the rate of abortion is the highest in metropolitan France, reinforcing the need for this kind of regional mobilization.
For anyone interested in attending conferences in Marseille on social issues, this event offers a concrete opportunity to learn, exchange ideas and help raise awareness about women’s rights. Admission requires advance registration on the Région Sud website.
A regional commitment structured around prevention, protection and recovery
Beyond the morning conference, the Région Sud runs a Women’s Support Program based on three pillars: prevention, protection and recovery. Prevention efforts include activities held directly in high schools, with workshops against harassment and cyberbullying, as well as self-defense sessions. In 2023, 7,000 high school students benefited from these initiatives, and 20 high schools received the Girls’ and Boys’ Equality label in 2024.
The protection component includes the creation of 11 regional women’s centers, which can welcome up to 3,000 women affected by violence. These multidisciplinary centers provide medical, psychological and social support. Alert systems complement this network: in 2023, 971 support services were provided through the Téléphone Grave Danger, and 1,000 Monshérif alert buttons were distributed to local associations. In partnership with the Ministry of Justice, 38,000 victims received legal and psychological support.
Finally, helping women affected by violence rebuild their lives means supporting them toward independence. Emergency accommodation is offered in partnership with several associations, while vocational training helps facilitate their return to work. The Quadrathlon project, run by UCPA and the Maison régionale des femmes, offers sports activities and workshops to help women regain confidence in themselves, both physically and psychologically.
