Héroïques fantaisies
Each of the works presented embodies heroism.
About this event
Musicatreize Écho[s]
The forms in this exceptional program are many, and heroism takes many shapes. Each work presented has its own face of heroism: Hercules slaying the Lernaean Hydra, Hercules again seizing Hippolyta’s belt...
However, Benjamin Dupé’s work is the high point of the program. Ovid’s text from Metamorphoses inspires the composer to describe the fatal end of the demigod hero, who, in his death throes, recounts his immeasurable feats to the gods.
