Jean-Philippe Collard

The natural elegance of JP Collard and the charm of his phrasing might make us forget that, while he is a distinguished ambassador for French music—this endangered masterpiece—he has often played Rachmaninoff, Granados and Bach around the world.

Jean-Philippe Collard, piano

The natural elegance of Jean-Philippe Collard and the charm of his phrasing might make us forget that, while he is a distinguished ambassador for French music—this endangered masterpiece—he has often played Rachmaninoff, Granados and Bach in the world’s great capitals.

His latest album, devoted to transcriptions of Bach’s music, has earned praise from the international critics. Rachmaninoff’s Moments musicaux remind us that the French pianist recorded the four concertos with Michel Plasson and the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse. As for Ravel, it is a tribute to his teacher Pierre Sancan.
