Julien Brunetaud et Patrick Ferné - Duo

Boogie, jazz and New Orleans swing. A pianist, singer and composer who learned his craft in New Orleans, Memphis and New York, Julien Brunetaud is one of France’s leading blues pianists. Named Europe’s Best Blues Pianist (2005) and then France’s Best (2006), and a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, he has shared the stage with Chuck Berry, opened for B.B. King and crossed paths with Evan Christopher, Leroy Jones and Louisiana Red. His album Playground (2016), along with his more recent records Feels Like Home and Bluesiana, confirms a contemporary blues piano style rooted in Professor Longhair and Dr. John. Based in Marseille since 2018, he has formed a close-knit, swinging duo with double bassist Patrick Ferné, moving between feverish boogie, ballads and Crescent City standards. An exceptional evening, worthy of the Old Port. Julien Brunetaud (piano, vocals) · Patrick Ferné (double bass)
