Julien Brunetaud et Patrick Ferné - Duo
Boogie jazz and New Orleans swing live at La Caravelle, on Marseille’s Old Port
About this event
Boogie, jazz and New Orleans swing. A pianist, singer and composer who honed his craft in New Orleans, Memphis and New York, Julien Brunetaud is one of France’s leading blues piano players. Named Europe’s Best Blues Pianist (2005) and then France’s Best (2006), and a finalist in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, he has shared the stage with Chuck Berry, opened for B.B. King and crossed paths with Evan Christopher, Leroy Jones and Louisiana Red. His album Playground (2016), along with his more recent records Feels Like Home and Bluesiana, showcases contemporary blues piano rooted in the traditions of Professor Longhair and Dr. John. Based in Marseille since 2018, he performs with double bassist Patrick Ferné as a close-knit, swinging duo, moving between feverish boogie, ballads and standards from the Crescent City. An exceptional evening, right by the Old Port. Julien Brunetaud (piano, vocals) · Patrick Ferné (double bass)
