About this event

This four-part mixed choir brings together 70 singers from the Provence region. All amateurs and volunteers, they come together to share their passion for choral singing and share with audiences the joy of performing a varied repertoire. Founded in 1980 by Alain Chouvet and then conducted by Claude Rose from 1998 to 2007, the Choeurs de Provence have been conducted by Gallian Ressort since 2008.

This work achieves universality through its choice of texts from different eras, countries and religions, structured around the traditional elements of the Latin Mass ordinary. It is an emotionally charged, prayerful meditation on the wars that have torn apart our past and, above all, the 21st century, urging us to choose peace.
