About this event

Poetry gives voice!

A season of poetry, to express the world as it is perceived, as it is imagined, as it moves within and around each of us.

But also to explore how poetry is created, what its contours are, how it filters into our daily lives, spreads, and encounters the synchronicities that, day after day, make us sensitive to its signs, its calls, its urgencies.

A poem is movement: the movement of words, rhythms, silences, the music of a voice, the cadence of a breath. A poem carries images, sensations, and free thoughts. It speaks to each person and to everyone, because it is free from the obligation to explain. It is its own message, with form and substance completely intertwined.

Over these 4 evenings devoted to a singular, offbeat world, between sharp-edged reality and boundless imagination, contemporary poets and poets of all time, the artists associated with the Théâtre des Calanques have chosen to get straight to the point: words make meaning and give the world of feeling the colors of a powerful humanity. They are also a struggle, a call, love, a cry. Wonder or uncertainty. Around the themes “women in poetry,” “desire,” “poetry and humor,” and “love,” 4 carte blanche evenings will take shape, with actors and musicians at the service of the selected poets.

Third session: making humor poetic, making poetry humorous, by Jeanne Noyelle and Thibaut Kuttler

Laughter escapes between two well-crafted lines, where verses and assonance delight the ears and bring forth a few amused snorts.

Poetry is full of themes of love, contemplation, and sensuality.

Humor does not easily find its place there.

And yet our language is rich in misunderstandings and syntactic acrobatics, ideal for bringing humor to a text, even a poetic one!

L'humour pris au mot takes up this challenge.

We hope to offer you a poetic evening that will delight your ears, pamper your soul, and make you laugh.

As an amuse-bouche: Boris Vian, a few lyrics by Bobby Lapointe, the sharp pen of Juliette Noureddine, the timeless humor of Prévert, and the poetic virtuosity of Gherasim Luca…
