"La légende des cinq soleils" avec Catalina Pineda - MAAOA
About this event
Story in French, song in Nahuatl
Between life and death, light and darkness, creation and destruction, the Aztecs (ancestors of the Mexicans) tell the story of the creation of the universe in five movements, in which death is part of the cycle of life. The dead and the living know that a time will come to begin an initiatory journey full of trials, leading to an inevitable transformation toward a place called Mictlan, the kingdom of the dead.
But this story is told because "El dia de los Muertos" is one of Mexico’s greatest traditional celebrations, transcending time and borders, where fear is overcome by love and memory and our connection to our history are celebrated.

NB: An intercultural performance that offers a chance to discover the origins of the Mexican Day of the Dead.
