La parabole du seum
An attempt at survival that emerges from the margins and resists convention, made of poetry, incantation and magic.
About this event
How do you survive in a society that rejects you? How do you hold on to joy and hope despite the ongoing ecological catastrophe? Faced with these burning questions, director Rébecca Chaillon invokes science fiction, Afro-Caribbean cultural rituals, magic and charismatic figures in equal measure. They become beautiful, joyful forms of resistance to the gloomy atmosphere of the present day.
Rébecca Chaillon brilliantly plays with every device of live performance here. The artists on stage are no exception: they embody with conviction these stories of lives marked by discrimination, refusal to give up and the will to fight. We find ourselves at the heart of a combative, sensitive and rebellious creation, both joyful and dreamlike. In a word, necessary for all those who, despite present hostility, still find the strength to stand tall in joy.An attempt at survival that emerges from the margins and resists convention, made of poetry, incantation and magic.
