La rive
Inspired by the tragedies of Euripides, writer and director Louise Vignaud brings the past and present into conversation to reveal the repetition of violence.
About this event
The fates of women. Epic, poetic and political theatre, where ancient tragedies resonate with the fractures of the present.
Four women, four countries, the same turning point: war. Their lives are fractured, and their bearings begin to shift. They don’t know one another, but their paths cross in a world on fire, where borders—geographical, intimate, and symbolic—blur. With La Rive, Louise Vignaud creates a choral narrative shaped by exile, loss and the need to keep standing.
Inspired by the tragedies of Euripides, the writer and director brings the past and present into conversation to reveal the repetition of violence. Following Nuit d’octobre, she continues to explore sisterhood in the face of a brutal world. Onstage, a fragmented space crossed by light and sound becomes a place of memory. A chorus of women gives voice to a collective story and refuses to be erased. Powerful, sensory theatre that questions our relationship with others and with history.
